Our Therapeutic Approaches

Our clinicians are highly trained and skilled in a number of approaches which allows them to offer you a treatment plan tailored to your needs. Some of the common approaches used are:

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Evidence-based therapy focusing on the relationship between thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. CBT helps identify and change negative thought patterns and develop practical coping strategies.

Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)

Specialised therapy for trauma and PTSD. EMDR helps process distressing memories and experiences, reducing their emotional impact and allowing natural healing to occur.

Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT)

Helps develop self-compassion and emotional regulation. Particularly beneficial for those experiencing shame, self-criticism, and trauma-related difficulties.

Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT)

Skills-based approach focusing on mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. Especially helpful for emotional regulation difficulties.

Integrative Therapy

Drawing from multiple therapeutic approaches to create a personalized treatment plan that best suits your individual needs and circumstances.

Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT)

Helps understand patterns in relationships and behaviours, exploring how past experiences influence current difficulties and developing new ways of relating.

Life Coaching

At AIB Psychology we recognise that everyone experiences mental health and wellness differently. Client Success Stories

"Amanda worked for five months with my teenage daughter, initially to help with her anxiety. She saw past my teen's resistance and persevered through her unwillingness to engage with the process. After evaluating our goals she created a treatment plan which she explained in detail, complete with possible outcomes. A final reflective session showed how effective the treatment was and my daughter is much more confident and able to manage her anxiety and emotions."

Parent Review, 2023

"Before reaching out to Amanda I felt that therapy just wasn't working for me, and never would. Through a compassionate, supportive approach Amanda has allowed me the space to explore my trauma, and finally see the light to move forwards. She is caring and understanding, and I always felt I could reach out to her whenever I needed to. Working with Amanda has been truly life-changing, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to anyone going through a tough time."

Client Review, 2023

"I contacted Amanda in late January '24 at which time I had become increasingly aware that I was having difficulties mentally and emotionally. What followed over the subsequent weeks was a journey of understanding, and the knowledge from that journey has not only turned me back towards a brighter path but has given me hope for having to deal with challenges that the future will hold for me. I finished my time with Amanda knowing that my future was going to be better as a result of her help."
